Question on safety of Cialis and other type meds

If a man takes meds for heart like b/p meds, like Toprol and for prostate, like Terazosin for enlarged prostate, etc.
is it safe to take any of the meds for erectile dysfunction?

In mid 70's, post bypass surgery 36 years ago and recent heart tests all were ok. He carries nitro glycerin--'in case' but never uses it as it is unnecessary--so far.

Doctor told him quite awhile ago he couldn't take these meds for E-D but I wonder if they are safer now? He still has the desire, but not able to maintain an erection or 'complete' even after trying 'everything'.
Won't go see a Urologist or even ask the doctor again---any suggestions? Sure don't want him to do anything or take anything unsafe. Thanks

Hi Anon,

Definitely speak with his doctor before having him take any prescription drugs or adding a new medication of any sort to his recent mix. You would both hate for him to suffer from a negative reaction, so no need to take a chance.

Along with speaking to a medical professional, the WebMD/Medscape Drug Interaction Checker is a wonderful resource for you to second check what medications are known to have negative interactions and to what degree these interactions may be.

Wishing you both a happy and healthy life together!
