Hernia surgery

On April 17 I had hernia surgery. All went very well, but my problem is pain. I have some pain in the area of the incision which I am told is normal and will go away. I am feeling pain in my groin, almost like the surgery was not done. This sometimes make work difficult. I am lifting all day long. It doese get frustrating, but I deal with it. I work for a company who doese the same as the Salvation Army. We have clothing donation bins out and I drive a route every day emtying the bins. After the surgery I only took 2 weeks off (because thats all the paid time off I had available) and worked in the store for 2 weeks. I dont want to tell my employer because I dont want him to tell me I cant work, I have no more available paid days off to take. I am not sure if I should talk with the surgeon, I dont want to go in if its just a part of the healing process. When I first felt the pain I waited 2 weeks before seeing my family doctor, I was hoping it was just a pulled muscle. He told me it was a hernia. The pain after surgery was crazy. I just dont want to have to go through that all again. I could not imagine how it would feel if things tore apart inside. Any sugestions, or any one go through hernia surgery and have experience on lenth of time pain lasts?
