I'm a 62 year old male with a very sore, bruised feeling on the bottom of my left foot, in the heel actually, this just came up about 36 hours ago. I have'nt banged it or caused it to be sore in any way. I have a difficult time just putting my weight on it, i walk around like i'm wearing "highheels", with just my left foot, it is quite awkward. I'm 5'7", and weigh 197 last time on scales. Any ideas/solutions? Thank you for any and all advice.

could be a plantars wart, but they usually look like something deep in their. often times just a bruised bone and will resolve with time and good shoes with arch support.

You might want to try rigid heel cups, like these . If you get the rigid kind and they are not too large for your feet, they will prevent the fatty tissue of the heel from spreading out so much, keeping the heel's natural cushion under the heel bone. You'll want to wear them on both heels even if the other doesn't need it, because it will add to your height slightly. Again, I wouldn't recommend the pliable kind that is padded with gel underneath -- the point is to contain your own natural cushioning rather than to put a pillow below your foot.

I play hackey sack and occasionally caused myself some serious heel pain until I started using these (although I got them from somewhere else -- can't remember).
