just went to the dermatologist to have a complete check up. the dr asked what i was there for. he then did a biopsy on something that looked normal to him but just in case.

i did not get a complete looked at, at he was more concerned about that.

i have a couple of skin tears on leg etc. does anyone know what causes that and do they normally do a full check up meaning to the look from head to toe.

My only experience at a dermatologist was to have a mole checked out. A biopsy was performed and it was benign *whew!) You mention 'skin tears'. Have you lost weight over time? These skin tears could be stretch marks. As I've gained and then lost weight I have a few indentations in the form of lines on my skin that are slightly indented compared to the skin around these lines. Almost like shallow canyons. If you have a follow up appointment with the doc you might want to point these out and have him confirm it's not anything more serious.
