I was in the same boat. Dry organism. Stopped Flomax and within a week I was back in good shape.

I have experienced the same problem when taking Flomax (actually the generic version). I have been taking Flomax for urinary problems- difficulty urinating, particularly at night. I am reluctant to stop taking Flomax in fear that these urinary problems will return. What have you guys found when you stopped taking Flomax. Did urinary problems come back? (I assume that urinary problems is what put you on Flomax in the first place.)

I don't take anything. The Flomax did'nt seem to help and I don't get up may more now than I did when I was on Flomax. I get up 2-3 times per night.

I've been taking it for a few years. It might be helping a little bit. My urologist said when he first prescribed that there wouldn't be a problem going off it. It might be providing some benefit. My amount of ejaculate has decreased, but my sexual response is not very good probably because of age and BP medication. I might stop taking it for a few weeks and see if there is any effect. The only time I made it through the night without getting up was when I did the free 30 day trial of daily Cialis. One of the side effects was retrograde ejaculation, which I didn't like.

My regular regimen is a prostate support supplement and pygeum. There is a medication that according to my urologist might shrink my prostate and I will consider taking it.

With or without Flomax, I still need to get up to urinate a couple times a night but generally can get back to sleep relatively quickly.

within a two-week period i began talking flomax, had 40 cesium seeds implanted in my prostate, got a 3-month shot of lupron and then increased my dosage of flomax to two .4 mg capsules a day.

the result was the worst side effects of my protracted treatment regimen. not just the urinary stuff but i also experienced dizziness, weakness, heat intolerance, shortness of breath and for a month or so i had pretty bad joint pain, especially in the shoulders which a bone scan showed are alight with inflamed tissue due to years of weight training.

okay, i figure the lupron and BT contributed hugely to my symptoms which have gotten alot better the further i got from BT and as the second shot aged. for example my shoulders and hips no longer ache but a lot of food and drinks like still coffee taste "funny" to me. and weakness still persists.

a lightbulb clicked on about two weeks ago and i cut my dosage of flomax in half. today i halved my dosage again with the intention of being completely free of flomax by the 26th when i have my next appointment with the radiation onc. i don't have problems urinating so i am getting off of flomax and hoping even tho i just got a shot of lupron that some energy will be restored as i recover from SGRT.

I stopped taking Flowmax 5 days ago and my urinary situation is unchanged. My ejaculate has definitely increased a little.

One week later and urinary flow is unaffected. Ejaculate amount is significantly increased.

I'm going to contact my urologist to try a medication that he mentioned that might shrink my prostate. I usually avoid any medication except BP because they can have side effects.

I have non diabetic peripheral neuropathy and went through the entire course of increasing dosage without any benefit,
but it was worth trying. I have good prescription coverage so I'll take a chance on the prostate meds.
