Should I Worry? Very Frequent Urination - A Zomig Side Effect

QUESTION for a MD for the Migraine Community:

I routinely use 5 mg Zomig for chronic migraines and it works well to eliminate them...but I have a side effect my Neuro hasn't heard about and couldn't advise as to whether it's worrisome or not. The literature I get with my perscription does not list "frequent urination" as a side effect, but "frequent" is putting it mildly. I start having to run to the bathroom about 30 minutes after taking it and need to do so approx. every 15 minutes for up to two hours. The urine is clear as water and there's no discomfort...but having to repeatedly jump up to leave meetings at work is very embarrassing. Have you heard of this side effect and should I be concerned? THANK YOU for any information!

I looked it up and other people had that side effect too. Do you take Topamax by chance? That made me have bladder infections and frequent urination.

No Topamx....tried it once but had to get off and did not experience the freq urination w/that one. All of the "Triptans" cause frequent urination but some to lesser degree. Zomig, which works the best to get rid of my migraines causes the "frequency" problem I mentioned in the original post. Where did you find information about this side effect? I have not been able to locate this info anywhere...I've tried to, just to make sure it doesn't mean I should stop the medication due to stress on the bladder/kidneys? Thanks.

Just type in any question on a search engine and you will go to any medical blog or med website where someone has addressed that problem.
