Keeping a weekly migraine journal can help us built a history of when migraines occur and also may pinpoint triggers.

As a community, our journal may also help a member find similarities and encourage them to do further research of their own.

? Did you have a migraine this week? How Many? What were you doing? What did it feel like?

? How long did it last? Is this time amount normal for your pain?

? When? Day, Evening? Is this normal for your pain?

? Trigger? Example: Food, Allergies, Menstrual, and Stress?

? Did you have a migraine this week? Yes How Many? 1 What were you doing? Woke up with the migraine. What did it feel like? Pain in my sinus and neck.

? How long did it last? 2 days Is this time amount normal for your pain? No normally my migraines last only 1 day.

? When? Day, Evening? Is this normal for your pain? Morning, yes pain was normal.

? Trigger? Example: Food, Allergies, Menstrual, and Stress? I had a sinus infection this week. Spring allergies will trigger migraines.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute or an hour or a day or a year but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

I will start this post since I have been migraining since 4-26-2011.

Did you have a migraine this week? Yes How Many?4 since monday(Everyday) What were you doing?Nothing What did it feel like?Throbbing starts on one side of the temples then moves to both sides. Sometimes it "caps" around my skull as well. Always have a very stiff, sore neck with limited movement capabilities.

Hi Denise,

I was looking at caffeine as a possible trigger for my migraines. Have you ever tried quitting caffeine a few days before your menstrual cycle?

I notice that when my allergies act up I tend to get more migraines but caffeine can intensify those migraines. I have cut out almost all caffeine and noticed my migraines are not as bad.

Lainey,
I drink green & chai tea in the morning totaling about 80mgs of caffiene per day. I do not drink anything else wit caffeine & only occaionally eat a piece of chocolate. I have not tried eliminating it al together a few days before my period begins but I will give it try.
Thank You for the tip!

I notice that caffeine is no problem until I begin my allergies. The past week was so horrible that I broke down to call my doctor for advice. I cut coffee and all caffeine drinks out but it didn't help for this week. :(
