Sinus headaches

kajunteddy posted:
I have been getting daily sinus headaches. I am currently going thru an inner and outter ear infection due, I believe, to sinuses. Ive been to the emergency room twice in a month due to the headache and ear ache pain.
I am currently on Amoxicillin, Loratadine-D allergy capsules and Antipyrine ear drops. However, I am getting these horrible headaches everyday. Is there anything I can do for relief?

I'd suggest asking your doctor if a neti pot might provide some relief from the congestion, but for the headache, I've found a damp, hot washcloth over my nose and eyes provides a little relief. Nothing I've ever found eliminates a sinus headache, but reducing the pain is usually enough of a win for me to be able to face the rest of the day.

ear infections can be really bad and possibly damaging and you might end up with tinitis. But I didn't know they could cause sinus headaches. Did a regular dr see you or did you only see one at the ER? Might be a good thing to see an ENT if you haven't already.

That was a good idea....Iv e found a product called Simply Saline and it used just like a neti pot. Holding your head sideways over the sink and using the product, it goes in one nostril and out the other...and it works.

Unfortunately I am one of the millions of ppl that are uninsured, so both Dr visits were thru the ER. I do not have the means to see any type of specialists. But thank you for the post.

PS The tinnitus has begun. The ringing is so loud I can barely hear anyone talking to me.

I use a noise machine that drowns out the ringing. You can get a sound machine that has sounds like the ocean, rain, etc.
