Trigeminal Neuralgia and Migraines

I have been suffering from chronic migraines for 10 years now. About 3-4 years ago the pain started changing and I've been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. I have an appt to see a neurosurgeon to talk about microvascular decompression surgery. Has anyone had this done? Is there a chance that my migraine pain will also go away with this surgery? I keep hearing so much about "migraine surgeries" in the news and from friends but these surgeries seem to deal with neuralgia more than anything. It's hard to figure all these things out with so much pain and brain fogginess.

Thank you for any input!
