    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Too many migraines ?

Hello to you all, I need to know if having 12-18 migraines per month is unusual ? Reason for question is my Dr is leery of me taking so much Maxalt MLT tabs for it due to potential side effects. Unfortunately aside from stress as one cause, I have to deal with the triggers almost everyday in terms of my job, Diesel exhaust, being on computer too long-much more than an hr. Any ideas ? Maxalt MLT's work the best with strong coffee and an ice pack.

Plenty of us get that many migraines. My doc has me limited to 6 doses of any triptan in a week, so I use other things if I can catch it early enough. My favorite is Blowfish, an aspirin and caffeine combo pill that you drop in water like alma seltzer. That's really good for morning migraines for me.

One of the ladies on here has been using butterbur, an herbal by a specific company, to reduce her migraines. It took a few months but worked well. You can look back and find her discussion. She gave us some really good write ups as she was starting it. If I find it I'll post a link, or maybe she'll jump in.

I hope this helps you some. RL
