Hello, I am new to this part of the site.. Went to see a neuro today and he ruled out a lot of things but said I could be having migraines without/with the pain. He put me on topamax. I have a question why would a dr put me on an anti sezure medication? I go back in a month to see if the medicine is working.

Aside from triptans, no medications have been developed for migraine. Topamax is one of those medications which does reduce or eliminate migraines for some people.
