Exercise-induced headaches are fairly common and they are almost never sinus-related. The suggestion to gradually build up the intensity and the duration of exercise is a good one, but I would also suggest starting with aerobic exercise that does not jolt your head, such as a stationary bike or swimming. Once your body is conditioned you cant try jogging as well, but it is important to do it at least 2-3 times a week. If you continue to get headaches after or during exercise, try taking Migralex (a patented combination of aspirin and magnesium that I developed, which you can buy on or before you start the exercise. After a couple of weeks you many not need to take it any longer.
Several daily supplements, such as magnesium, Boswellia, CoQ10 and feverfew can also help. If not, taking a prescription medication, such as propranolol (Inderal), which is mentioned above is also an option. Although propranolol and other drugs in this family (beta blockers) slow your heart rate down, which makes it difficult for some people to exercise vigorously. Other preventive drugs include other types of blood pressure medications, such as calcium channel blockers (verapamil), ACE receptor blockers (Atacand and Benicar), epilepsy drugs, such as gabapentin, and sometimes even Botox injections (which are only approved for chronic migraine, so insurance may not pay for it).
