Short version- kelsey ann and karleigh nicole arrived on february 22nd.

Long version- I was induced on February 22(also my 31st birthday) and labored for about 2 hours i think when they decided to move me down to the OR to break my water. They thought they could feel either a cord or a hand between the babys head and my cervix so for safety they moved me. Once down in the OR i was moved to a operating table and they broke my water and thank the lord nothing major happened, the baby continued to have a strong steady heartbeat. I figured i could go back up to my room but no since i was dialated to 6 and they were planning on moving me at 8 i stayed down in the OR. By this time it was around 11:00. I continued to labor until around 6 something when it was finally determined that i was fully dialated. The nurses would say i was at 10 and then the doctor would come in and say i was a 7 this happened like three times until the doc finally said yes i was complete. I pushed until 6:25 pm when Kelsey Ann arrived. After Kelsey was out i expected the second baby to come quickly and easily....and was wrong! I labored and pushed for another two hours when they decided to put the vacuum cup on Karleighs head to help her out. Her head was turned slightly making it hard for her to move down. Karleigh Nicole entered the world 2 hours and 9 minutes after her sister and was born at 8:34 pm.

It was such an amazing experience even though i was exausted at the end of it. I had a great labor and never even felt a contraction. The doc had wanted me to have an epidural in case i had to have a c-section so i got that before they even induced my labor. I felt very blessed to be able to deliver the girls vaginally and avoid the c-section.

Kelsey weighed 5 lbs and 12 ounces at birth and Karleigh weighed 5 lbs and 5 ounces at birth. Both girls are doing great and are wonderful sleepers and eaters.

sorry it took me so long to post but i had to figure out the new style of webmd and find the mothers of multiples board which took me a while.

Congratulations! Sounds like you did a great job! I'm so glad you were able to deliver the twins! I'm slated for a C-section.

So glad the girls are doing well. Karleigh was on my list of baby names, but we've decided to go with Ainsley and Ashlynn. You picked great names!

How long were you able to carry the girls? I'm 33 wks and counting!

I love those names! I was one day shy of 37 weeks when i was induced. I think i would have continued on if i weren't induced since my second pregnancy went 9 days past my due date.
