I am curious to have a question answered by either MD expert: Would you consider having a patient on tysabri, who is a difficult venipuncture patient, undergoing a direct access port implantation? thanks, flapkat

Neil S Lava, MD responded:
Yes, it is sometimes necessary to create a secure venous access and I have had patients get these ports for medication access.

OK. Thanks for the input. So if I were the patient, and I am, what points should I bring up with my MS doc to open this discussion? What issues would you consider, and how would you proceed?
thanks,
flapkat
