This stands for "chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency". Researchers in Italy have published data suggesting that some of the veins from the brain may be blocked or kinked. They theorize that this may be causing the problems of multiple sclerosis.
Currently the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is funding I. number of research projects to see whether these findings can be substantiated.
At the moment we don't have enough evidence to know whether this finding is related to multiple sclerosis. We are eagerly awaiting the results of these studies.
