Need some advice
feelurpain posted:
I have been fighting "possible MS" for about a year. My current neurologist hasn't given me a diagnosis I'm so frustrated because I well tell him a symtom I'm having and he will tell me that doesn't have anything to do with MS. For example I have had some bladder issues, like just losing control a couple of times. So I take his word and go see my familey doctor and she will say oh that's the MS. Then I look on web MD and there it is as well.

Here are my symtoms: three brain lesions, trigiminal neuralgia on right side of face and mouth, ringing in my ears, vertigo, tremors on right hand, extremely weak in the heat and tired to the point of almost collapsing in the afternoon, my eyes dilate at different times, one big one little.cramps in my feet legs and hands. My tongue is numb on one side, my spinal tap came back weekly positive form ms a year ago, one ms plaque, I show loss of cognitive abilities when I had a Nero syc test done, depression and anxiety.

What more does he need to diagnose me??

Should I just give up on this doc and see another one?
hackwriter responded:
Yes, get a second opinion from an MS specialist.

Incontinence is indeed an MS symptom but is not specific to MS. However, within the context of your white matter lesions, symptom history and positive LP--and if all other possibilities have been ruled out, I'm not sure why your neuro has told you it doesn't have anything to do with MS, and why you wouldn't have an MS diagnosis now.

I hope you'll see an experienced MS specialist and let us know the results. Good luck and hang in there.

Kim is right on a MS care center or specialist and in my opinion ASAP

Thanks for your responses. I just want some closure so I can focus on other things and figure out what to do with the rest of my life.

I agree with everyone's posts back to you. It's time for you to find another neurologist........the sooner, the better........and one that will get you on a MS medication ASAP. What's he waiting for??? Your current neuro sounds INCOMPETENT to me!!!
swampster1952 replied to farside_fan's response:
hello feelurpa,

not only is he incompetent but he is also an ignorant moron! We have a fair number of those types of neurologists up here in Fairbanks too.
