New studies suggest that stem cell transplants to treat certain brain and nervous system diseases such as MS may be moving closer to reality.

Stem Cell Transplants May Show Promise for MS

The researchers found that the neural stem cell transplants showed the implanted cells made myelin. For this to be effective in treating MS the inflammation process would have to stop and this has not been accomplished yet.
