Night Sweats

DanteH posted:
Are night sweats a symptom that could be associated with MS? I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with MS at the age of 18. Recently I have been waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. I have read many things online about what the cause could be, but I was wondering if it is a common thing with MS. Any advice would be helpful!

Dear DanteH,

It is common for us to become overheated during the night. In fact, I have to sleep with a fan blowing directly on me every night or else I will, as you have, wake in the middle of the night sweating and throwing off the covers.

If you don't have an overhead fan in your bedroom, you might want to invest in an oscillating fan and place it four or five feet away, aiming it at your face and see how that works for you.
