What the Heck!
MRSKuhns posted:
So the other day i watched this video called, "The Business of Being Born", and it made me way more confident that i can have my baby naturally( this is my first time being pregnant so I have no idea what to expect). The video also peaked my curiosity about birthing centers and midwives, so naturally I went to google to look the two up.... well it seems that Omaha or maybe even the whole state of Nebraska have no such thing/ its not available to us....

I know that if I am going to have my baby naturally i want to have say in what is done none of this pitocin (unless absolutely necessary) or any other this even possible when giving birth in a hospital?

I don't know this is random and not very well put together...i would just like to know what others who have given birth naturally have experienced in these regards????? Please help, thanks :)

I'd say talk to your doctor about what kind of birth you want and discuss the hospitals regulations. No hospital can force you to use ANY kind of drug so be confident and stand your ground. The more research you do and reasons for what you want the more likely your doctor and medical staff are to respect your decisions. I'm fortunate to live in a state that tends to be more liberal and there for more open-minded about parents having a say in how they want to give birth. If you haven't picked an OB yet ask lots of questions in your first appt or research them on-line and if you don't feel they're in line with your needs and wants then find another one! Good luck, and you can do it! I did and am about to do it again without ANY hesitations! I hear people say all the time " why would a woman go through that pain if she doesn't need to?" and let me tell you there are plenty of reasons and they're all worth it!
