No needle for me!

Hi ladies. 7 weeks here with #3. Other two are 3 and 4. I had an epidural(sp?) with my first and it was the worst experience of my life! Not only did it hurt, but they forgot to turn it down when I was getting close so I was numb when I was supposed to be pushing. Of course I felt the urge to push but they wouldn't let me. After that I swore I would never get one again, and thank the Lord for the strength because I was able to have our second without anything. The nurse kept saying "I'll see it when I believe it" or "let me know when you're ready for the epidural". Gee thanks for the support. I realized that while yes it does hurt the pain goes away, eventually :) My friend just had her baby and I was trying to tell her not to get one but I could tell by the pictures I got that she went her own way on that one (she was sleeping in a few of the pictures). Oh well, to each his own, right.

I am 15 weeks with my first baby. I want so much to do it naturally. Simply because that is what our bodies are made for. I think that too many American women are so scared of the pain that they don't want to reap the benefits of a natural birth. I plan on continuing to say no until its too late to get one. Most countries women have their births at home with no drugs... Why is everyone always having epidurals?
