Hello! 15 weeks with Baby # 1

I have wanted to have a natural birth sense the day I found out I was pregnant. I am so against the drugs. I dont want to be induced either. I feel like the baby will come when he or she is ready. I have hear stories about epidurals and how you are never quite the same after. Also after reading I learned that you have a better chance at establishing successful breast feeding. And that you have a better overall bond instantly when your baby comes out. The benefits just seem to outweigh the pain relief of the epidural. I know that saying you are having a natural birth is easier said than done... But I plan on not giving in and saying no till its too late. I have already told my doctor that I dont want anyone to even ask me if i want pain meds. Does anyone have any advice for me that has been through it before? This is my first baby and I really really want to do this for him or her. Kind of like my first selfless act as a mother.

I am 28wks with my first pg and also planning the natural route. I am using the hypnobabies home study course to prepare and love it so far, and I chose a birthcenter over a hospital so that I could get the support i need and have a gap between me and the epi. If I have to transfer I can, but it will take a few min, so hopefully that will keep me close in an emergency, but far enough away to be strong. I strongly reccomend a MW. The support is unmatched. Even if you still choose to deliver in a hosp. Also, if you haven't watched the documentary "the business of being born" watch it. There is also a book that goes along with it which I really enjoyed. Start now figuring out what kind of birth you want and how you want to manage the discomfort bc you really do have to educate yourself and be your own advocate.
