My baby girl got her first tooth at 4 1/2 months and is now working on her 4th tooth 3 weeks later. I was talking to a co-worker who said her daughter got her first tooth at about 5 months, but her son didn't get any until 14 months. The doctors were talking about "cutting his gums" surgically but didn't have to thank goodness. She said that her daughter has braces and has lots of cavities, her son has fantastic teeth and never had a cavity. I thought it might have been an old wives tale, but I think there's merrit to it.
