My four month old is on Prevacid. The last time I had it filled the instructions were to give 2.5 ml twice a day. This time the instructions say to give 2.5 ml twice a day with sodium bicarbonate. Why is this? Shouldn't the pharmacist explain this and provide the sodium bicarbonate?

Yes, the pharmacist should explain it. I would go back to the pharmacy or call them. I doubt they will "provide" the sodium bicarbonate, but they will probably tell you how to get it.
