Will you be as strict as your parents? (New Study on Results)

Amelia_WebMD_Staff posted:
A new study suggests that uber-strict parenting, without giving children a chance to speak their mind is more likely to raise children who are disrespectful and engage in delinquent behaviors such as stealing, hurting others, and/or substance abuse.

What makes these children rebel?

"Kids don't view them as a legitimate authority figure and are more likely to break the rules," says researcher Rick Trinkner.

  1. Were you raised in a strict home?
  2. How did you react to the parenting style chosen?
  3. What is your parenting style, now that you are the parent?
