My 6mth old has a knot on hand

I noticed my son has a knot located on his palm under his pointer finger. He did not have it before his nap. I picked him up to play, layed him as I always do to help him pull up to sit on his own,(practice)... although this time he did not grip my hand. I noticed his index finger was not moving and the other fingers were. So I put my thumb in place, as to see if he would grip it. I felt it! What could it be? He seems to act normal and as if he is not bothered by it. It feels like his little bone. I am taking him to dr in the morning first thing!
