Well i had my DD 5/8 she weighed 6lbs 9.5oz 19.5in long. She was born by c-section due to the fact that the drs kept insisting I wasn't in labor and my contractions we so painful I was in tears and wanted to strangle the nurses (never got that bad with my son who was and emergancy c-section for fetal distress), and my blood pressure was so high the blood pressure machine kept giving them error messages. I had originally gone into l&d because i was bleeding bright red blood, like a light period. My dr told me that morning when she got on that I had the choice of going home to labor since i was only 1cm or i could do a repeat c-section (had one schedualed for 5/11 since it didn't seem i'd go into labor on my own was already 40wks was trying for vbac). I choose the repeat c-section due the amount of pain i was in and the fear that going home with that high of blood pressure was not a good idea. So she said they would see what they could schedual for that day. She was supposed to be schedualed at 3pm that day but since my ob was the on call dr she had to do an emergancy c-section first so mine got pushed back to 4pm didn't get taken back till 430-445, my dd was born at 5pm exactly. There was some merconium in the amniotic fluid, as soon as they suctioned her mouth and nose she cried, greatest sound ever (never heard my son cry when he was born her was a blue baby so they rushed him to revieve him)

As soon as they took her out of me they laid her on my chest for the skin to skin contact. I held her for about 5-10 min before I told my mom they could take her to get weighed and measured. My mom went with the nurses to clean her up. They nurse told my mom that for as low as she was her head was perfectly round and I would have probably needed a c-section anyways due to the fact that her head wouldn't of fit through the birth canal because it didn't reshape itself. So that even though I tried hard to have my vbac it most likely wouldnt have worked. Shortly after they took me to recovery they brought her to me and she was already looking for food, so I put her to my breast and she latched on and started eating perfectly. Around 8pm (I was still in recovery since they gave me a 24hr spinal with morphine in the spine that would last 24hrs as well) my family showed up to see her, so my mom took her out to visit realatives. They finally took me to my room and chased out my family for a brief period while they checked my bleeding and did my vitals then let everyone back in. We were in the hospital for 2 days after she was born. Friday we went to her first drs visit and she had lost 8.5oz. We went in monday for a weight check and she gain back 5 oz, then again today and she was up another 2 oz almost back to birth weight, go in again tomorrow to check her jaundice levels it was 14 friday, 15 monday, 15but higher points of 15 today. we will see what she is at tomorrow, if it doesn't go up then the dr will let her stay home if it goes up any more they may send her to spend a night under lights(praying we don't have to, got her out into the sun today to help, (her drs orders). She has been nursing very good. Im recovering great from my c-section, just can't wait to be able to drive again.
