Accidental double dose of Varicella Vaccine

alley_gater posted:

My daughter had her 12 month well child checkup today. She was given 4 vaccinations at this appointment. We just received a call from the Dr informing us that they accidentally gave her a double dose of Varicella. They insist that there are no side effects and that she will only be "double protected". Should we be concerned?

Hi alley_gater -

It is very frustrating to hear this, I am sorry this happened and has you concerned. Dr. Benaroch has responded to similar questions on our Parenting Community, I didn't find one about varicella though.

You may want to repost your question on our Parenting Community for possible response.

I have started using the Vaccine Tracker to keep track of my families vaccines. Check it out, it may be good to keep handy to compare with doctors office at vaccine appointments.
