Help with sleeping and feeding!
kypurdy11 posted:
My daughter is 5 weeks old and I can not get her to go 3 hours in between her feedings. I feel like I have tried everything. Also, we are having such difficulty getting her to sleep without bouncing her, rocking her, patting her, etc, and even then she will not sleep soundly in her crib. She will sleep in the napper in the playpen most of the time, but that is it! I desperately need some advice! Any at all would be appreciated! Thank you!

She is only five weeks old. I am not sure you can expect her to go 3 hours between feedings. My kids ate every 2 hours for a long time, then naturally we switched to every 4 hours. Every kid is different. Are you formula or breast feeding? You can try increasing her formula amount by an ounce if you have not tried that already. If they playpen works, then use it! Both my kids slept in the pack and play for the first 3 months.

Routine doesn't really happen so early. My son ate every 1-2 hours at 5 weeks. At that age they are growing sooo much. My son is now 14 months and still wakes at night and has never slept well in his crib. One thing that worked well until he got too big for it was the newborn rock n play sleeper (you can get them at walmart, target, etc... for about $55 but so worth the money). We used that till about 6.5 months when he would try to climb out in his sleep.

Do you know is it safe to let your baby sleep in the Rock n play sleeper through night. My boy never sleep well in in crib either. He grunt all the time n make his face red while he sleep in it. I'm so worry. Do you have any advices?
