    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Dr. Dan,
I had my 2 year old daughter vaccinated for the flu last week. She became sick that very night with a viral infection (vomiting, fever, sore and swollen throat.) Can you tell me if that has any consequence on the effectiveness of the vaccine?

Sorry, I know this is the FIRST year board, but I've noticed you bring this topic up before, and I feel that flu shots are important.

That's okay. I'm so sorry that she is sick :(

Her new illness should not have any impact on the effectiveness of her flu vaccine. It would be good to let your doctor know that she is not feeling well though.

Hope she feels better soon :)

Great thanks! Her doctor is up to speed with everything that's going on, I just forgot to ask my question while we were there!
