one thing...my pedi and allergist both said that J&J is SUPER drying. so if your kiddo has sensitive or dry skin to begin with the lotion is terrible to use. I can use it on my DD but it was terrible for my DS (the one with ezcema)

Good point. I use Aveeno, personally. But what I liked was the 3-step technique to getting to calm baby down.

I think even with our toddlers, a warm bath, a nice foot massage or arm and finger massage, and it's lights out would work, too.

We did massages every night for the first 9 months or so--until DS would no longer sit still for them! I still try, but he doesn't usually let me give a good one. He still apparently remembers the songs we sang during massages though--just 2 nights ago I sang one that I had not sang since before 9 months old, and he got this big smile like he knew. Melted my mommy heart. :)

Nettie loves for her feet to be massaged at bedtime.

I'd bet if I tried to massage her whole body, she'd go for it but not for too long. She's got ants in her pants, too.

So last night, I gave Neathery a good meal, put her in a warm bath, then rubbed her down with silky lotion afterwards and laid her in bed.

ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz.....

And she never woke once at night.

Also, while I was rubbing her down, she would make these really cute "moaning" noises because it felt so good.

She actually prefered her shoulders, neck, and head/temples to be rubbed last night.
