I can not seem to find anything on my "symptoms". Thought I would discuss it here and see if it sounds familiar to anyone.

For the last year or so, I have a feeling of something stuck in my throat, at the base where the collar bone makes the little "V". Sometimes it is worse than others.

There have been times when I could not would not go down...actually that started happening before the feeling of something in my throat..but I tried not to panic and would drink some milk or something to try to force it down, which it always did go down. Sometimes it was painful, mostly it was just scary.

Today, I have the feeling in my throat to the point it makes me gag...I have to mentally force myself to not give in to the feeling of ... you know...

Does any of this sound like something? I can't go to a doctor. I have been out of work since May 2008 and live with my daughter. I have no income or insurance, no Medicaid...nothing. I seldom go to a doctor as I am never ill. The last physical I had was 2 yrs ago and it was glowing. Fit as a fiddle.

I am 57, don't drink, have never smoked, I could stand to drop some weight but I am not obese.

Thanks for any responses.

I am assuming you are located in texas. So I did a quick web search and found the following web site. Free medical clinics and Dental clinics in Texas.

It may be your thyroid. If it get large enough it can push your on your wind pipe.
You do need to see a doctor as it is nothing a lay person can take care of and it will only get worse.

I just tried the web site address above and it did not go through. How i found the site was to type in free health care in texas and a list of sites came up. You will need to go through the list to see what you can find. There is free health care out there it is just a matter of searching the web and following up on what you find.

Hi Worn1. Thank you for responding. Very nice of you.

Yes..I am in Houston. Since I have no transportation (no car or even DL), I will see about the bus. Have not ridden a bus since I was a small child. Lately it hasn't been so bad. I have started taking Micro Plant Powder ("one of the world's best natural detoxification and cleansing supplements"). NASTY tasting! But I was hoping it would clean my system of any toxins that might be causing this. Can't say there is any connection as yet.

Hanging in there

(no, I have no connection to MPP other than just taking it)
