White spot on tonsils

Hello, Recently a strange white spot appeared on my left tonsil, and I don't really know what to think about it. It feels odd/bothersome not painful, but it scratches the back of my tongue. What is it? Is it harmless and will go away, or should I be concerned / consult my doctor?

If it was painful I would certainly go straight to my doctor, however since it's not I figured I'd ask here first.

I've uploaded an Image of it, sorry about the quality of the image, but taking a picture of the inside of my mouth was a little more difficult then i thought.

I encourage you to repost your message (though there's no need for the picture) on our Ear, Nose and Throat Community , understanding that even with a picture, no one online can diagnose this but they may have some thoughts for you.
