Hard lump in cheek after wisdom teeth extraction

I had my wisdom teeth removed a week ago. Unfortunately, I ended up getting an infection in my cheek, causing it to swell a lot and it is very hard. The infection is now gone but some of the hard lump still exists. My dentist told me that it is scar tissue, but did not give any more information. Is this lump that is deforming my face going to go away? What is the fastest way I can possibly get rid of it? I am very worried and would like answers as soon as possible. Please help me.
