Oral Cancer - HPV
An_251409 posted:
Dear Doctor,
Females get checked almost yearly during a pap smear for Cervix Cancer/Irregularities caused by HPV; However, why do people not get checked for Oral Cancer/Irregularities on a regular basis? I have HPV and have piece of mind when I go to my yearly OBGYN appointment and am told that I have a healthy cervix, but how do I know I don't have oral cancer? Is there a regular check up I should be getting that I don't know about? How big is my risk, should I be concerned? I am not a smoker.
