recently spent a day at the lake, out in the sun. I forgot to apply sunscreen until later in the day. By then i had already gotten a sunburn on my face. Usually not a big deal, happens to the best of us. Afterwards i experienced the usual discomfort and redness, i also had discomfort from my lower lip. I just figure i had sunburned it same as the rest of my face. A few days went by and the burn is peeling a little and healing like normal, but then yesterday when i woke up my bottom lip was swollen. It had me feeling uncomfortable, just a little embarrassment in public mainly. So last night i slept in my recliner so my head would stay elevated. But this morning my lip has swollen even more, and now i'm starting to worry. I've had sunburns in the face before, but never had lip swelling from it. I do suffer from cold sores on occasion, but not that often. Do you think its the virus that caused the swelling after the trauma from the sunburn? And also what might i do to take care of this swelling, my lip looks like a vienna sausage. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
