Usually there is no proper treatment for canker sores as it heal without treatment in about a week or two. However if the the sore is large, painful, or persistent, your dentist may prescribe an antimicrobial mouth rinse, a corticosteroid ointment. You can reduce their soreness by using soft bristle brushes for brushing teeth and flossing daily.
