    Colgate toothbrush new bitter taste

I recently purchased a Colgate Wave Value Pack Soft Full Head #251, 2 toothbrushes. After opening the pack and using one of the brushes, I noticed an unusual bitter taste on the brush bristles , and I had to thoroughly rinse my mouth after brushing to get rid of it . I did not rinse the toothbrush before using it. I expect them to be hygienic right out of the packaging.

I contacted Colgate's 800 #, they have never heard of this problem , and offered me a coupon value pack. The taste was like it might have been from a chemical cleaning rinse before the brushes are packed. But there is nothing which tells you to wash the brushes before using them. What's more, they're not U.S. mfg'd, it says "Dist. by Colgate-Palmolive Company", but they're actually made in China, according to the back of the card. Something smells (or tastes) of poor quality control here.

The toothbrushes come in a red-backed blister card. It's labeled 251, and has a sticker 'Colgate Super Value' on the front. In fine print on the sticker is the number P18320396. On the card back there are several other numbers; at the lower right is P18320571; the SKU # is 035000559203.

As soon as I get another pack I'm going to check for the same problem. I wonder what else might be hidden in our consumer products we're never told about?

Colgate "extra clean" (that's a joke!) medium circular power bristles seems to be covered in some foul tasting chemical right out of the box that made me throw up. I tried two different packages before I figured out what was going on. They are not clean out of the package, cannot be made clean, and seem quite dangerous. I don't know hat the chemical is.
