It is now the second anniversary of my pancreas transplant (7 1/2 years since my new kidney). It has been a very weird 2 years. I came down with a CMV infection after the surgery and after a while (6 months post tx) I ended up in the hospital and spent 7 months there. On the plus side, my fiance stuck with me and we got married last summer. I've been delinquent due to the poor health and the wedding so I'm finally getting to the point where I am able to write to my donor family. I want them to know that I think of them practically every time I eat (no insulin required any more) and every time I test my blood sugar(not that frequently any more). While I don't think I would every have the surgery done again if I needed it, it has been an amazing ride.
