Nothing inspires people more about a topic than personal stories. Use this discussion to share news about individuals impacted by organ donation. I was recently inspired by two colleagues: one in need of a kidney and another who stepped forward to be her donor (even while her son also needed a kidney). Read about it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2740719/the_gift_of_living_organ_donation.html?cat=5

My cousin came through for me in 2002 and gave me a kidney on her birthday!. In fact, I had a dream in the middle of August that they had called and told me of the date in October. In my dream I told them that was great, but they had to check with her first as it was her birthday. I shrugged it off as wishful thinking. After Labor Day she called me and gave me the date: her birthday!. I was really excited but on some level I felt - hey, I already knew that!.

I received a pancreas from a deceased donor in 2008. I just recently had my 2nd anniversary and am eternally grateful to that family for the wonderful donation. It changed my life.
