My doctor told me to try them both & use which ever one works best for me.

Thank you. Do you know anything else that is good for osteoarthritis of the elbow? I see where Celebrex is a drug that is used, but of course, like any drugs, there are risks involved.

I'm really not sure. I was recently diagnosed & I'm only 25, so for me it still kind of a shocker. And also mine is in my hands & wrists not my elbow. I'm in between insurances, so my hand specialist didn't want to start experimenting with meds until I get my new insurance started & to top it off my rhumatologist made me cry so I'm looking for a new one of those too.... For now they just have me on trimodal & naproxen which is what my mother in law & my husbands grandmother are both on for their arthritis as well and so far it really helps. They both have it pretty much all over too. So, I just called my mother in law to ask her & she said there is a recall on celebrex & concidering she really stays currant with all the recalls on everything I trust her on it. I think you just have try a few things though until you find which treatment works for you. I'll talk to my mom & my mother in law & grandma & see what ideas they can give me since this is something they have all struggled with for years I'm sure I'll get a variety of options from them all. I'll get back to you on it though ok?

My mother in law just called back & clarified that it wasn't recalled, but there is a law suit started against it so be wary.

Thanks RoseLynn02 for all the information that you have gatered for me. I am 51 and have fallen twice on the same elbow and use it a lot more than my right elbow because I deliver newspapers and sometimes have to put in the newspaper tubes or throw. Most of the time tho, I just get in and out of my car and deliver it up to the houses. So, it may be a combination of using too much and falling that has caused myb problems. I see an orthopaedic surgeon the beginning of December and he is going to look at the x-rays. I will certainly print out what you have sent me so that I can present it to the doc and see what his "opinions" are of the meds and recalls and lawsuits. I truly appreciate your information from all your family and trust and pray that you all stay as healthyy as possible. Thanks again. By the way, I have been putting heat on my elbow and seems to feel a lot better when I do.

I use heat for my hands too. It works best for me. Cold makes me hurt more. Anyway, I wish you luck at your apt. Let me know how it goes. I'll be checking your post. My mom is 53 & has arthritis pretty much all over, but hers is rheumatoid. I don't mind getting info for people, it makes me feel good when they do the same for me, so I don't see a good reason not to. That's what this site is here for right? Make "friends" with other people going through the same things for help, & support, or just to vent. I'd be wary of getting surgery though...Just be sure to look at all your options before making a major decision like that. O.K.? Well I suppose I'll talk to you later. Happy I could help some. Good-luck.

I agree RoseLynn02 that this site is to communicate with each other about what may work for yourself in the health field for your own body, as it may work for someone else also. I finally got my doctor to prescribe me some hydrocodone until I can see the ortho doctor next month. And I appreciate all you have told me. I will certainly make sure to keep you up to date after my appointment and see what the doc says. And surgery is definitely the LAST option, if at all. Surgery and me don't get along. Not that I have had any except for my c-sections in the births of my three sons. I have enjoyed your friendship and hope to keep in touch with you. Have a great Thanksgiving. Much Love

I enjoy having your friendship as well. You're the only person I have really been able to connect with in this community. I hope when can continue that & support each-other in this battle with arthritis. Thank you & you have a happy thanksgiving too.
