I had bursitis in my hip before my surgery. It went away after the surgery. I would think a orthopedist would help you out

Hi. I'm sure a plastic surgeon will do a very good job of removing the bursa. The question is whether removing the bursa will help?Have you tried everything else including active rehabilitation with physical therapy and a steroid injection? I am a physical therapist and in my experience, weakness around the hip is a very common cause for persistent hip bursitis. Hip bursitis is quite common after hip replacement surgery as some of the gluteal muscles are cut through. Removing the bursa will not strengthen the muscles however so it should really be a last resort. I have written a website on the subject of hip bursitis which you may find useful. Good luck!
