My mother broke her hip in 2007 that was not surgically repaired, and suffers from pain due to muscle atrophy. She is only 63 years old. Are there any on-line support groups For individuals and families facing the same issue? And are there any resources for non-surgical treatment of muscle atrophy for patients who cannot have surgery? She currently uses pain patches and cortisone shots.
