    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Does anyone know, Could Hyperparathyroidism, being treated with Steroids, for Adrenal Insufficiency, be related @ all to my both arms having "Severe Carpal Tunnels Syndrome"?

    Hi Periwinkle52,

I also saw your post about having surgery for carpal tunnel, hopefully you can have a consult with the surgeon and anesthesiologist to plan for the stress of the surgery and recovery.

Until you get more response, wanted to pass along this information, Causes of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome . It discusses HYPOthyroidism as one contributing condition.

Let us know when surgery is scheduled,
    Elizabeth

(By the way, we spent Thanksgiving a couple years ago in Hilton Head, loved it and had a great time!)

Thank-you for writing, Interesting as I've never been diagnosed with anything related to my Thyroid! And, YES, I absolutely know about having extra Anestesiologists & plenty of Steroids handy! After I found out I had developed Adrenal Insufficiency, my "Endo", makes sure to be on top of everything! He is GREAT! p.s., Glad you enjoyed Hilton Head. It is lovely, unfortunately, it;s nicer to visit, than live here! (but that goes for anywhere!) periwinkle
