my mom and grandmom and possibly my great grandmom has had ovarian cancer, I was wondering what my average of getting this is? Pretty darn good I would think, I have thought about this for 2 years, I am over 49. Do you think a complete removal would be in order to insure that I dont get this.

I am a Stage 3, Ovarian Cancer Survivor now (20 months) and would like to say that if you are concerned, there is a genetic test you can request to confirm whether or not you have a high risk of getting cancer as well. I too had cancer in my family but sometimes it is determined that most people get cancer by "chance" and some get it because they carry the "mutant" gene!! Get tested if you really want to know how much at risk you are.
