My best friend just called me and told me her 29 year old daughter was just diagnosed with "full blown" ovarian cancer - obviously I was in shock and couldn't really ask her too many questions - her daugher has never had children and she told me they are taking both ovaries and part of her bowel maybe would this mean stage 4 or 5 please advise

Hopefully not. I was told that with my last surgery that part of my bowel may have to removed but my pelvic surgeon was able to do what is called clean removals without taking any bowel and even though this is my second time around my cancer is still a stage 2. I wish your friends daughter good news after her surgery. I don't know your friend but having someone to talk to about this could really be helpful. Dr. Oz had a good show this week on ovarian cancer which you might want to look up on the web.
