Not sure what's going on

My mother in law who is 76 yrs. old was recently diagnosed with cancer in omental wall. Apparently in 2006, she had the last ovary removed and we were told that the cancerous cells attached themselves to the lining of the stomach. Now they want to start chemo. She is still very weak from her unstable heart. The doctors are saying that if they start chemo, her kidneys would fail and send her into dialysis which lessons her life span to one year to one year and a half. If she decides not to have chemo, her life span would be less than a year. I need some insight on this. Its making her family crazy. We are so unsure to what to do.
