Sad news (trigs)

Hi all,

At almost 9 weeks, I'm having a miscarriage. Just started bleeding last Wednesday and it hasn't stopped. My doc did a beta on Wed. when the spotting started (results 11,000 which is normal for 2 mos pregnant), and drew another on Friday, which I will find out tomorrow. But it doesn't matter... I know very well what's going on. Along with cramping and heavy bleeding, all my pregnancy symptoms are gone.

So we're very sad, but I'm focusing on Anna to stay positive. We will probably try again, but DH and I might have to discuss whether we should just be happy with one. I'll be 40 in a few months, and the risks of more miscarriages and other pregnancy complications are just getting higher. Emotionally and physically, I'm just done with the TTC rollercoaster.

Thanks for all your good wishes and support. Much love to all.

What awful news! Even after you've already had a successful pregnancy I imagine m/c is still so devastating. I'm glad you have Anna to take your mind off things and hope you and DH are still able to make some time for yourselves. Do you plan to see your RE or have any further testing done at this point?

Sending many prayers and positive vibes your way!
Stacy (31), DH (31). IVF 1 successful on first try! Evan born 7/6/10. Such a blessing!!!

I am so sorry. I wish there was more I could say/do for you. At the very least, I hope the m/c takes place without issue and that you and DH are doing the best you can in the situation. I'm sure snuggling with Anna never felt so good. You're in my thoughts.

I am so, so sorry to hear this, Amy. Like Stacy said, I imagine that even with Anna running around, this m/c is devastating. Many prayers for you and your DH as you move forward.

Oh Amy I am so saddenned by this news. It's just so unfair. I hope you and DH make whatever decision is right for you about TTC in the future.

And I hear you, I will be 39 this month, and the risks heightening with age are so terrifying. It's just a lot to go through on top of what we've already been through.

Thanks so much everyone... I know you all understand how this feels more than anyone else would. The second beta confirmed the m/c, and the bleeding is tapering off. I'll see my OB tomorrow just to follow up (this was supposed to be my first appt for the pregnancy).

Having my beautiful baby girl certainly softens the blow this time around, but I can't get it out of my head that I've now lost two babies. And the due date of Valentine's Day, which was so much fun before, will now be a sad reminder. But I do LOVE LOVE LOVE my Anna, and my DH. After we grieve this loss we'll decide where to go from here.

All the best to everyone!
