Since hours after Evan was born I was filled with so much love for him that I couldn't bear the months ahead until we were able to try again for another little miracle. We completed a FET on 9/9/11 and got our BFP today!!! Beta was 499 (2 days early), progesterone was 17.5. I've been instructed to increased my PIO, but both NP's report this is "not a big deal." I feel so blessed that I have the opportunity to raise another child and give Evan a friend for life. I'm praying that this pregnancy is as positive and successful as the last.

We obviously won't be telling the majority of people until after 12 weeks, but I wanted to share with my favorite ladies first
Stacy (31), DH (32). IVF 1 successful on first try! Evan born 7/6/10. Such a blessing!!! FET 9/9/11- BFP 2 9/21/11!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Wow, twins would be really funny! No one mentioned anything about that, and I'm pretty sure my beta was similar last time (although my memory for the exact number is poor). My RE will only transfer single embryos, but I guess there is always the chance it could split! If that's the case I will certainly keep you all updated!

Stacy, I was wondering, if you don't mind me asking, why did you decide to go with an FET vs TTC naturally? Though we're at least a few months out, I've been wondering what I'm going to want to do once we decide to start trying again. I think we have two frozen embies that I won't abandon, but I have this romantic idea of getting pregnant naturally. We don't have any diagnosed reason why we weren't able to get preggo naturally; so I'm holding out hope that it'll happen now that I've been pregnant once. We'll see how I feel when the time comes.
Again, I'm so happy for you and your family. Can't wait to hear your updates!

No worries for asking Sarah! I never got back on any form of birth control after having Evan. Although we would have preferred to wait a few months after he was born to have another child, we certainly weren't opposed to the idea of another one quickly. Unfortunately during that time I only got a period once, which is typical for me and the reason I had to do IVF in the first place.... my body is highly resistant to ovulating! I would have loved to get pregnant naturally, but RE indicated that would be like pulling a needle out of a haystack and we wanted to have the kids close in age. I do have 8 other frozen embryos though.... so not sure what we will end up doing with them all since we obviously have no intention of trying for another 8!

When do you think you'll be trying for another yourself soon? After having twins I imagine a single baby will be a piece of cake!!

8 FROZEN EMBIES!!! - That's insane.

Well, we were planning on starting to try on our own when the twins were 18 months and then, if that wasn't successful after a couple months, we'd turn to FET if it was necessary. We will only be transferring one when that time comes. If we do get preggo naturally (two more times hopefully) I'll have them put the frozen embies in me without taking any of the drugs to let them do what they do naturally. It would be to hard for me to just "flush" them away.
Unfortunatley, due to some poor planning on our part, we won't be able to start TTC until July 2012 because of insurance issues. I have the Mirena and won't be able to get it taken out until that time. (unless it's not too expensive to pay for it to be removed out of pocket)
Also, I may have mentioned before, the next baby is going to be an even more expensive baby than our IVF babies because we'll need to buy a new car and a new house. I'd rather figure this out as need be vs wait for these things to fall into place before we start trying. I want to be preggo again asap and i want to keep the kids close in age as well.
We'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Just a thought- you can always donate your embies to a couple that can't make their own. I know the idea of just letting them die is very hard. This way they get a chance at being born and a couple gets the child they desperately want. The idea of your children being out there raised by someone else can be weird (like giving them up for adoption), and I didn't go through IVF so this never came up for us.
