Emma (DSD) was sick all weekend and of course Madden ended up catching her cold. and for the past 2 nights i've literally had to sit up holding him so that he's not congested because we don't have a humidifier, which i'm picking up one today. Gave him a little bit of baby tylenol because it helps with stuffy nose? i didn't know that but that's what the label says. so yay for that! But poor little guy has been miseable. any suggestions on what kind of humidifier to get? someone told me a cold mist one worked for them. just want to see what you all use. how about baby vicks?

Thanks in advance ladies!

I use a cold mist one on my night stand all winter. I had one with filters and got frustrated spending $5 every month on filters so I bought one that doesn't use filters. I ended up tossing it and buying another with filters because it became all crapped up with scale from our lovely hard water. I hope your little ones feel better soon!

I'm so sorry Madden isn't feeling well, it's the worst! I can't think of the brand, but we have one of the humidifiers in the shape of a dragon (they come in all different animals) and it works really well. We also have a cool mist humidifier in our bedroom. Hope he is feeling better soon!

Thanks ladies! I ended up picking up one of the cheaper brand cool mist humidifier and it worked wonders! Madden slept longer and he didn't seem as congested as he did the few nights before. he still has a runny nose but it looks like he's getting better. he's still really tired during the day and takes long naps compared to the 30-40 minute naps he takes. that's fine with me. he needs his rest. but sick babies are the worst! especially when there's not much you can really give them.

have you used a saline spray with nasal aspirator? the saline spray itself loosens the mucus and eventually the baby sneezes it out. or you can wait a few minutes after using the saline spray and then use the nasal aspirator. but thats tricky since the baby moves around. helps my daughter.

Hey Rooni! I was looking at the saline spray but i was too scared to try it. LOL but he's doing much better now. still has a bit of a runny nose but he's sleeping so much better now. I just hope he doesn't end up getting more sick this weekend since we're driving 8 hours to see family for the holidays.
