Ok, I need some advice. My twins are 8 months old now and AWESOME! However, they like to wake up at the crack of dawn. They are usually up around 4 am! I don't know how to get them to sleep longer. They are sleeping by 6:30 every night. I have tried to keep them up longer but it is almost impossible. Any insight will help!

Hi There! I can't believe the twin are 8 months old! Geez, time really is moving fast! How are they when they wake up? Do they cry or are they just awake. I had this happen with Alex right around 6 months. He would wake up at 5 am every morning. I talked to my doctor about it and she said to just let him be in the crib, if he cried, just to let him cry b/c 5am in not an acceptable wake up time! LOL! So that's what we did and it worked for us. He did cry at first, but then would eventually get himself back to sleep. He's always been an early riser though... now we are lucky he sleeps until 6:30, but that is way better than 5am. Good luck!!

Hey Emily! When Emma wakes up she usually just lays there talking to herself Reagan either talks or cries. When they wake up during the night we let them cry it out and they go back to sleep. Part of the problem is they go to bed so early but it is impossible to keep them up!

How are you doing? I read you guys were starting to try again....any news with that? I pray you get another "surprise"!

Hi Becky -

I hear you about going to bed early, but they must need their rest. When Alex was there age he actually took like a 20 minute nap right after dinner, and then I put him to bed around 7:30. This was totally his doing, I probably tried to keep him up, but it is what it is. It's hard to keep them up, but maybe you could try putting them to bed 10 minutes later for a week, and then another 10 minutes later the next week? Since they can put themselves back to sleep on their own, I think eventually they will sleep longer.

We are doing good! We've only been trying a couple months, but praying for a nice surprise as well. I think this time around I am much more relaxed, having a toddler at home does keep your mind off things!

Are you on FB? We have a FB group over there with a lot of the girls that used to be on these boards. My FB name is Emily Urbanek Otte if you want to be added, just add me as a friend. Take care!
